Grow Where You Are Planted Capital Campaign

“The one sown upon good ground is he who bears fruit and yields in one case a hundredfold, in another sixtyfold, and in another thirtyfold.” (Matt. 13:23)

Dear Parishioners,

I am excited to introduce our Grow Where You Are Planted Campaign to address urgent needs of our church while starting to raise the money toward a new, longed-for school building.

In His parables, Our Lord would speak of the farmer going out to sow his seed. The field is the kingdom of heaven and the plants are the souls who are nourished by the grace of God.

These parables concern us more directly at St. Isidore’s, because we have a farmer as our patron. Through his intercession, our parish has grown considerably in the past 23 years.

In order to continue that growth, we urgently need to make restorative repairs on our church and raise money towards a new school building.

The first order of business for the campaign is to address a needed restoration of the church’s brick and infrastructure, which allow water into the building, causing increasing damage over time.

Our second order of business is to begin raising money for our longed-for school building. Both these projects require a big effort and large sacrifice, the kinds of efforts needed in most churches every 10 to 25 years (these efforts are needed even more if a church is growing).

Please pray daily for this effort at this important time for our parish.

St. Isidore the Farmer, pray for us.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. Paul Robinson

About St. Isidore

In 17 short years, this parish of the protectress of Christians moved onto these plains where it awaits the ongoing harvest of souls under the watchful eyes of Our Blessed Mother and St. Isidore, the greatest of farmers, who indeed will ensure a great harvest in these magnificent high plains of beautiful Colorado.

Taken from the inscription at the base of the statue of Our Lady Help of Christians, standing guard over St. Isidore Catholic Church and its faithful.

St. Isidore Catholic Church is a traditional Catholic parish located in Watkins, Colorado, served by priests of the Society of St. Pius X.

Mission:

For over 40 years, St Isidore Parish has continued the mission of Our Lord given to the Apostles by providing souls with the traditional Mass and sacraments, preaching the true Catholic faith, and serving our neighbors with supernatural charity.

Vision:

To remain true to the faith of all time and the Mass of all time; to make our campus more attractive through the construction of a parking lot; to accommodate school growth by the construction of a two-story school building—and so both attract souls of good will and assist those here to save their souls.

History:

In February of 1983, seven Catholics starving for the True Mass of all time gathered under the patronage of Our Lady Help of Christians on the back porch of the South Denver home of James and Delfinia Nason.  There Fr. Hector Bolduc offered the first Mass of a new parish with an old, eternal Faith.
These first Masses were soon moved to a rented storefront converted into a chapel in Lakewood, Colorado.  When the faithful outgrew this space in 1993, the parish moved to a small Chapel in Denver. In 1999, as the chapel and its thriving K-12 school drew a greater and greater number of faithful, a generous offer of land and monetary donations allowed the mission in Colorado to build a beautiful Romanesque church in Watkins. This church was consecrated by Bishop Bernard Fellay on August 18, 2001.

I will finish with my testament. I would like that it be an echo of the testament of Our Lord: a New and Eternal Testament...the heritage that Jesus Christ gave us, His Sacrifice, His Blood, His Cross. I will say the same for you: for the glory of the Holy Trinity, for love of the Church, for the salvation of the world: keep the Holy Sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ! Keep the Mass forever!"
